The case sates that the designer designed a supermarket and the contract stated the he is responsible the space planning, partition works, false ceiling works and finishing specifications throughout the supermarket as well as furniture for the back office. He is not responsible for shelving and display items as well as the cashier desk and equipment. The client approved samples of the finishing materials and they were installed by the contractor as per the specifications and material samples, the project is now completed, but the municipality refuses to give a completetion certificate to the supermarket to start operations until the type of tiling is changed to non-slip ceramic or granite. The client is upset due to the delay and additional cost.
